NIO Inc. Delivered 31,138 Vehicles in December 2024, Monthly Delivery Reaching A New Record High

In December 2024, NIO Inc. delivered 31,138 vehicles in December 2024. Single-month deliveries exceed 30,000 units for the first time, marking an increase of 72.9% year-over-year. The deliveries consisted of 20,610 vehicles from the premium smart EV brand NIO, and 10,528 vehicles from the the family-oriented smart EV brand ONVO. For the full year of 2024, NIO Inc. delivered 221,970 vehicles, marking an increase of 38.7% year-over-year. NIO brand delivered 201,209 new vehicles, a 25.7% increase year-over-year, while ONVO delivered 20,761 new vehicles. Cumulative deliveries reached 671,564 as of December 31, 2024.

As the first model of NIO's sub-brand ONVO, the L60 has been widely welcomed by users, achieving over 10,000 units delivered in its third month since deliveries began on September 28. Within 100 days of launch, the cumulative delivery volume has exceeded 20,000 units, leading the industry in delivery speed. From September 1 to the present, the number of ONVO stores has reached 300, covering 82 cities. A total of 317 ONVO authorized service centers have opened, covering 172 cities in China. As of December 31, 2024, over 1,000 NIO Power Swap Stations are compatible with ONVO L60, with further acceleration in station construction expected.

Smart EV Brand ONVO Launched and Its First Model L60 Delivered

On May 15, the smart EV brand ONVO and its first model, ONVO L60, a smart electric mid-size family SUV, made the global debut. On September 19, the ONVO L60 was officially launched, and on September 28, the L60 deliveries started.

Smart Electric High-End Small Car Brand firefly Launched

On December 21, the high-end small car brand firefly was officially launched at NIO Day 2024 in Guangzhou, and its first product firefly was unveiled for pre-ordering in China, with a pre-sale price of RMB 148,800. The model will be officially launched in April 2025.

Smart Electric Executive Flagship NIO ET9 Launched

On December 21, the smart electric executive flagship NIO ET9 was officially launched at NIO Day 2024. With a starting price of RMB 788,000, the model will be delivered in March 2025. As an epitome of NIO’s 10-year innovation and the full-stack R&D capabilities in 12 areas, the NIO ET9 boasts 1,081 patents filed and obtained.

Continuous Expansion: Power Swap Network Covering 18 Expressways

NIO continues to advance the development of its sales and service network. As of December 31, NIO has 180 NIO Houses, 603 NIO Spaces, 385 service centers, 67 NIO Delivery Centers globally, and 300 ONVO stores.

At the same time, its charging and battery swapping infrastructure keeps expanding. As of December 31, NIO has a total of 3,054 Power Swap Stations up and running worldwide, including 904 along China’s expressways. NIO has built a battery swap network which covers 18 major expressways in China and has provided users with over 61million battery swap services. Additionally, NIO has deployed 4,292 charging stations with 25,096 chargers, as well over 1,770,000+ third-party charging piles connected. So far, NIO has also opened 78 Power Journey routes in China and two in Europe.

NIO Value System 3.0 Released

On July 23, NIO released the NIO Value System 3.0, rejuvenating the company’s vision and mission.

NIO Gears Up for Global Expansion

On September 16, NIO’s smart electric flagship SUV, the EL8 (ES8 in China), started deliveries in Germany, Norway, the Netherlands and Sweden.

On October 4, NIO announced its market entry into the MENA region. With the UAE as its first market in the region, NIO started to delivered the NIO EL8 (ES8 in China) in the UAE on October 22, and opened the NIO House in Abu Dhabi on November 28. The EC6 and ET5 will be delivered in the UAE in Q1 next year.

On November 15, NIO announced its market entry into Azerbaijan with product delivery starting in Q2, 2025. At UNFCCC COP29 held in Baku, Azerbaijan, NIO provided premium mobility services for heads of state and government, as well as distinguished guests from around the world.

Industry-Leading Innovation Unveiled at NIO IN 2024

On July 27, NIO IN 2024 was held in Shanghai. With AI as a fundamental enabler, NIO announced the successful tape-out of its smart driving SoC NX9031, released the full-domain operating system SkyOS, and introduced China’s first smart driving model NIO WorldModel (NWM) and smart driving architecture NADArch 2.0.

Smart Systems in Continuous Evolution: Always Fresh, Always Updated

The Aspen, Alder, and Banyan smart systems continue to evolve. This year, a total of 19 FOTA updates have been released, with 666 experience improvements and new features. The Navigate on Pilot Plus (NOP+) has been available nationwide for all Banyan users. The upgraded Banyan smart system is built on core AI capabilities, integrating the latest AI algorithms with smart hardware, native intelligent framework, and digital cockpit applications to offer a growing and personalized user experience.

NIO’s Steer-by-Wire System Receives China’s First Production Approval

On December 9, NIO announced that the ET9 equipped with the steer-by-wire (SbW) system had been approved for mass production by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), making NIO ET9 the first production model with SbW in China.

Power UP 2024 Successfully Held

On August 20, Power UP 2024 was successfully held, where NIO announced the Power Up Counties plan, Power Up Partner program, and unveiled a series of recharging achievements in technology and application. On December 30, Power Swap Stations in every county in Jiangsu was achieved, with a total of 383 Power Swap Stations in 95 counties and county-level administrative districts in the province.

Strategic Partnership in Automotive, Transportation and Energy Sectors

On January 11, Wenergy Group, Anhui Transportation Holding Group and NIO signed the strategic cooperation agreement on jointly promoting the establishment of a charging, swapping and energy storage system, and supporting Zhong’an Energy to build 1,000 battery swap stations integrated with charging, swapping and energy storage system. On the same day, NIO also signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with JAC Group and Chery Automobile on battery swap.

On April 25, NIO and Lotus entered into strategic cooperation on charging and swapping.

On May 8, NIO and GAC signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on charging and swapping.

On May 21, NIO and FAW signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on charging and swapping.

NIO Power Received Strategic Investment

On May 31, NIO Power received a strategic investment of RMB 1.5 billion led by Wuhan Guangchuang Fund.

2024 ET7 Executive Edition Officially Launched

On April 25, NIO presented eight 2024 models at Auto China 2024 in Beijing, and officially launched its smart electric executive sedan, the 2024 NIO ET7 Executive Edition.

ET7 Nominated as Official Mobility Partner of the 136th Canton Fair and the 7th CIIE

On October 15, the 136th Canton Fair was held in Guangzhou, and NIO ET7 was announced to be the Official Distinguished Guest Car for the fair. On November 5, the 7th CIIE opened in Shanghai, and NIO ET7 once again became the official mobility partner of CIIE.

NIO Vehicles Claiming J.D. Power Titles for 6 Consecutive Years

On August 15, J.D. Power China Forum and Awards Ceremony was held, NIO ES8, ES6, ET5 and ET5T won the first place in respective market segments, making NIO the only NEV company to win the titles for six consecutive years. On August 29, NIO ranks highest in customer experience value among Chinese brands according to the J.D. Power 2024 China NEV Customer Experience Value Index (NEV-CXVI) Study.

EL6 Earned Euro NCAP Five-Star Safety Rating

On April 10, NIO EL6 (ES6 in China) received a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP with high scores according to the updated protocol in 2024.

NIO China Secured a New Round of Funding From Strategic Investors

On September 29, NIO announced that it entered into strategic investment agreements with three existing strategic investors of NIO China, who will inject RMB 3.3 billion in cash to subscribe for newly issued shares in NIO China.

NIO All Time Quality System Launched

On June 26, NIO released the All Time Quality (ATQ) system that puts users’ interests first.

2024 NIO Cup FSEC and FSAC Successfully Held

On October 26, 2024 NIO Cup FSEC and FSAC concluded successfully in Hefei. This is the 10th year that NIO has supported the event.

In 2024, NIO Life collaborated with over 630 global designers to launch 793 new products, delivering more than 22 million commodities to users. As NIO’s original lifestyle brand, NIO Life adheres to the philosophy of“design-driven, human, and full of surprises”. 1,530 users engaged in co-creation projects with NIO Life, including Golden WuGong, User Supermodels, User Designers, and Lifestyle Icons.
